David Bonk and the new pullover

Music is my passion, and it's very connected to my label.
So I'm really excited with this post. It's very cool when tchibi's concept goes straight to the people it should be involved. I love creative people and I always have them around me. So for now, I can say creative people are starting to be involved with tchibi as well, which is pretty awesome.

I have some crazy connections with some countries, and as I lived in Germany for a while, I get to know its music.  And David Bonk awesome artistic contribution.  Some days ago I was saying in my twitter that I really know when people are bad, by the first sight. And I also know it by the reverse: when people are really talented and gentle, I can notice it by the first sight. I think it's all about empathy (which is is the capacity to recognize and, to some extent, share feelings [such as sadness or happiness] that are being experienced by another person). I have great empathy related to David Bonk's music. It's really cool and touching! He's putting efforts on it since he was really young, as I was doing with my fashion. Empathy, empathy.
He played and composed music in a rock group called Panik and now  he's working in solo projects and also with another musicians.

(video clip of his last project  ---  http://www.bonksonnenschein.de/ )

WOW, huh? :)

And here you can see the pullover I created for him (hahah which is already in some friends' wishlist):

I think it totally fits his new style, and most important I know he's having fun while wearing it.
So that's tchibi to me.. To dress those creative and special people around the world. It is really cool to look great outside, but if you don't have that special heart and mind, forget it. The clothing is just a complement to your personality, so once you have a great one, you'll be able to find  nice stuff with tchibi and also with other nice brands here and there.

Art is my blood - Akai Ito

The first step to this project came from somewhere I did not expect to. It was Model Mayhem. A beginner brazilian photographer (his name is Rodrigo Silva) wrote a very friendly message to me, asking if he could collaborate in an editorial project. I did not have anything special in mind since in the last month we shoot the "back to school" project, but even so I wrote back saying we could collaborate. Since I took some decisions for this year, my brand will work nicely between those artistic projects and the commercial line. The commercial line is on the way and while I have some free time I'm still creating those very complex and interesting knitwear. It's a way I found to survive in this market --- I needed a commercial line for the money and popularity purposes but also I still want this brand to be known for its original handmade designs. Handmade and commercial sometimes does not follow the same line but I'm finding harmony between it. It's hard to find time for both but I'm handling so everything will be awesome. Just small details about the commercial line, we will have also knitwear and fabrics on it. It's gonna be cool -- not just for girls, but boys also. Just wait the perfect time and you'll know it :D

Okay, coming back to the photographer and Model Mayhem... So I was working in a new sweater and it was kinda aggressive one. We invited a model from MM as well ( her name is Lidia Zuin, and she wrotes this very accurate blog about alternative fashion - http://fiercekrieg.blogspot.com/) and also I invited another photographer, Fernando Takashi who is also my partner not just in artistic projects but life.
So, I started to have some ideas.. I wanted it to sweat blood. hahahah it sounds a little bit freak but I was making a connection between blood and art. I guess, to me, it makes all sense. My art is my blood and my blood is my art. This sweater was kinda complicated to knit, it's very delicate, so we have a blend between aggressiveness with tenderness (one of my fav quotes).
Later, someone commented about "akai ito" and it really makes all the sense to our project.

The results are awesome, of course, and you can check them here:

new year, new horizons

Hi everyone!

I think you guys are gonna see a lot of changes in our social networks.  I'm updating everything with brand new stuff and also I'm adding some new social networks to our connections. I wanna stay in touch with you guys in all possible ways, since I believe in the power of the internet. Let's say I'm embracing with my 2 hands that old concept I'm always talking about: INDIE POWER.

About the brand: I made some choices, some opportunities are lost, some other new and WONDERFUL opportunities/changes/chances coming soon. It's 2012, maybe the end of the world (lol) so I'm trying my best this year to make this huge concept behind the brand something more powerful, artistic, commercial.

Our new and unique commercial line is on the way (woohooo), a nice international project is taking its form, and small artistic projects coming soon in the next days. So.. Let's work!!

And for now I'm not gonna promise to write more posts around here, I'll just do it.. Sharing some ideas, inspirations and everything that comes in my mind when it's about tchibi :)

I've just listened to this and I really liked the whole energy and vibe:

see ya!

happy new year!

It's the second day of this year and we are working! nothing better than working in the beginning of this year to put some projects in practice!
